Crowns

Full tooth restoration when a filling is no longer enough.

About this service

A crown encases the tooth entirely - appropriate when most of the structure is missing (worn or broken teeth, root-treated teeth, fractured teeth). It restores full bite and aesthetics in a few visits. Material is chosen by position: zirconia for posterior, e.max for front - often combined in the same plan.

Step by step

How the procedure works

  1. Examination, X-ray and material choice.
  2. Tooth preparation under local anaesthesia (completely painless).
  3. Digital intraoral scan.
  4. Same-day temporary crown.
  5. Final crown fabricated in our CAD-CAM lab (24-72h).
  6. Try-in, bite and aesthetics check.
  7. Cementation of the final crown.

When it is needed

Materials & technology

Zirconium oxide (Zirkonzahn Prettau) and e.max glass-ceramic (Ivoclar). Adhesive cementation with silanisation and bonding protocol.

Frequently asked questions

Does crown preparation hurt?
Preparation is under local anaesthesia and completely painless. Mild sensitivity afterwards is normal and passes within the day.
How long does a crown last?
Zirconia 15+ years, e.max 10-15 years. With written warranty.
Can I replace old metal-ceramic with all-ceramic?
Yes - we do this often. All-ceramic crowns transmit light better and look natural.
