Dental bridges

A fixed restoration replacing one or more missing teeth.

About this service

A bridge is a fixed restoration anchored on neighbouring teeth or implants, with a replacement tooth in between. Aesthetically it looks like a natural row, functionally it works the same. A classic tooth-supported bridge requires preparing the neighbours - an implant-supported bridge preserves them.

Step by step

How the procedure works

  1. Treatment plan - bridge on teeth or on implants.
  2. Preparation of supporting teeth under local anaesthesia.
  3. Digital intraoral scan.
  4. Temporary bridge while the final is made in the lab.
  5. Try-in and fine adjustments.
  6. Cementation of the final bridge.

When it is needed

Materials & technology

Zirconia (Zirkonzahn Prettau) for posterior zones and full-arch bridges. E.max for front bridges up to 3 units. In-house CAD-CAM fabrication.

Frequently asked questions

Does a bridge replace an implant?
In many cases yes, but it requires preparing neighbours. Implants preserve neighbouring teeth - often the better long-term choice.
How long does a bridge last?
A zirconia bridge with good hygiene lasts 15+ years. The biggest enemy is gingivitis at the work margin.
How do you clean a bridge?
With super-floss for bridges or interdental brushes. We will show you the technique at the follow-up.
