Implant placement & sinus lift

Sinus floor augmentation for successful upper-jaw implants.

About this service

When the bone in the upper molar zone reaches the sinus membrane, an implant would not have sufficient anchorage. Sinus lift is the technique that elevates the sinus membrane and fills the space with a bone graft. In smaller cases the implant is placed simultaneously; in larger ones - after 4-6 months.

Step by step

How the procedure works

  1. CBCT scan - bone thickness, sinus anatomy.
  2. Local anaesthesia (sedation optional).
  3. Lateral or crestal sinus approach.
  4. Careful elevation of the sinus membrane without perforation.
  5. Bone graft placement in the created space.
  6. Simultaneous implant (≥5 mm existing bone) or delayed.

When it is needed

Materials & technology

Piezo-surgery (Mectron) for atraumatic sinus bone opening. Bio-Oss substitute + autologous bone. Resorbable collagen membranes.

Frequently asked questions

Is sinus lift more painful than a standard implant?
Painless under anaesthesia. Mild tenderness and swelling for 5-7 days - recovery similar to wisdom-tooth extraction.
What if the sinus membrane perforates?
Small perforations are resolved with a collagen membrane during the same procedure. Larger ones - delayed for 6 weeks.
How successful is it?
Over 95% with proper technique. Implants placed after sinus lift have the same long-term success as those in native bone.
