Impacted tooth extraction

Surgical removal of unerupted teeth (most often wisdom teeth).

About this service

Impacted teeth have not erupted properly - most commonly wisdom teeth (third molars), but also canines. Surgical extraction is performed when they cause pain, infection, push other teeth or interfere with orthodontic/prosthetic treatment. CBCT planning maps the tooth position and proximity to the nerve precisely.

Step by step

How the procedure works

  1. CBCT for precise tooth position and nerve relation.
  2. Local anaesthesia (IV sedation optional).
  3. Surgical access - gum incision and bone exposure.
  4. Tooth sectioning (if horizontal or deep).
  5. Extraction, wound cleaning and suturing with resorbable thread.
  6. Cold packs and analgesics, follow-up at 7 days.

When it is needed

Materials & technology

Piezo-surgery for atraumatic bone opening, especially near the inferior alveolar nerve. Resorbable sutures (Vicryl) - no suture removal needed.

Frequently asked questions

Do wisdom teeth always need to be removed?
Not always. If they are healthy and fully erupted we keep them. We remove them when they cause pain, infection, push other teeth or cannot be kept clean.
How long is recovery?
Swelling and tenderness pass within 3-5 days. Most patients return to work the next day with recommended analgesics and cold packs.
Is sedation available?
Yes. For anxious patients and complex procedures we offer intravenous sedation with an anaesthesiologist on site.
