Gingivectomy

Aesthetic or functional gum-line correction.

About this service

Gingivectomy is a precise procedure that removes excess gum - either for aesthetics (gummy smile, uneven gum line) or functionally (prep for prosthetics, deep periodontal pockets). Laser technique gives minimal recovery, almost no bleeding and usually no need for sutures.

Step by step

How the procedure works

  1. Examination and plan - how much gum, where exactly.
  2. Local anaesthesia.
  3. Precise gum reshaping with laser (or classic instrument).
  4. Wound care - usually no sutures.
  5. Healing period 7-14 days before further prosthetics.
  6. Follow-up.
